3rd Annual Philly Chili Bowl

BigBite’s 3^rd Annual Philly Chili Bowl!! Woop, woop!

Date:
Saturday, March 3, 2012…it’s going down.
Place:
Fleisher Art Memorial: 719 Catherine Street. Free parking will be available.
Time:
4:00 pm for contestants, 5:30 pm for spectators.
Cost:
$10 to enter the competition and a chance to be named the 3^rd Annual Philly Chili Bowl winner! $5 to enter, eat, drink and judge the People’s Choice round.
Details:
We are capping our entrees at 20 competitors! Free beer is provided by Narragansett Beer and food will be included for all who attend. Competitors will get to showcase their culinary skills in front of several Philly notable restaurants chefs, critics and beyond! Winners will be announced between 6:30 and 7 pm. BigBite will be donating excess food from the event and a portion of the proceeds to Project H.O.M.E, a nonprofit organization that provides housing and services to chronically homeless men and women in Philadelphia. Let’s have a great time folks!!
Prizes:
The winner will be granted bragging rights for the year
Two seats at any upcoming class at Audrey Claire’s COOK
BigBite legendary trophy
 Judges:
A panel of friggin awesome judges will decide the three winners.  Judges on the panel include (more judges to come. Stay on the look-out):

Resident judge and CityPaper’s MealTicket editor and blogger
Emilio Mignucci:
Third Generation owner of DiBruno Bros. and Philly cheesemonger.
Joe Bernstein:
Resident judge and owner of People’s Republic Food Cart
Lily Cope:

Kevin Sbraga:
Season 7 Top Chef Winner and owner of Sbraga 

Entry Requirement:
1. Completed entry form and payment must be received by Feb., 29th, 2012.
2. Each individual/team will cook 6 quarts of chili.
3. Each individual/team will donate their chili to the event for consumption as well as to Project H.O.M.E.
4. All chili must be made from scratch, before the event.
5. More details for contestants and rules will be shared once one has entered.

Who will be the PASTA-tastic winner of BigBite’s…

RULES

1. Your INPASTABOWL entry can be as simple or complicated as you want; it can be any pasta type, shape, and flavor; as long as it’s cold…duh.
2. Your INPASTABOWL entry size should be 3 Quarts or 96 oz. or a 11×7 tin pan (pst, there all the same size).
3. Bring your own serving utensil. You might want to bring a throw-away spoon/fork
4. Your INPASTABOWL entry must be entered by 2:00 pm.
5. Your INPASTABOWL entry must be named. MISSION INPASTABOWL themes encouraged.
6. Only one INPASTABOWL entry per team.
7. There will only be one judging round (People’s Choice) and one winner.
8. Judging samples will be distributed by a moderator.

People’s Choice Judging

1. Upon entering the event, guests will be issued a ballot to be used in the voting process.
2. They will also be given samples of the INPASTABOWL entries.
3. Judging will begin at 4:00 pm
4. Guests must give their ballots to the organizer.
5. Only one prize will be awarded to the winner of the 1^st Annual MISSION INPASTABOWL.
